Chronicle: As reported over the weekend, retired Brazos KHKX/Odessa, TX morning co-host and 2016 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee Mike Lawrence passed away suddenly at his home in New Mexico Saturday (5/21) at the age of 64. Lawrence was half of husband and wife morning duo Mike and Dana, who spent 25 years doing mornings in the market. Lawrence began his career in the early '70s at WTRX-AM/Flint, MI and made subsequent stops at WCAR-AM/Detroit, WCXI-AM/Detroit and WTOD-AM/Toldeo. He joined KNFM/Midland as PD/morning host in 1989, where he teamed with future wife Dana Carole. The pair went on to host mornings on KGEE/Midland and KHKX before retiring in late 2014. They'll be inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame June 22 in Nashville. Arrangements are pending.
