Chronicle: Our condolences to the family and friends of longtime WBVR/Bowling Green, KY morning host Scooter Davis, who died Friday (6/24) after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 57. Davis helmed the WBVR morning show for 34 years, earning countless "Best of Bowling Green" accolades in the Daily News and was inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Hall of Fame last year. Services will be private, but a public celebration of life is being planned. The station offered a moment of silence for Davis this morning (6/29).

Condolences also go to the family and friends of former Susquehanna Radio Group founder and President/CEO Louis Appell, Jr., who died Monday (6/27) after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 92. He built the company into 33 stations in San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Kansas City and his home town of York, PA before selling to Cumulus in 2005.

And our sympathies to the family and friends of guitarist Scotty Moore, who died yesterday (6/28) in Nashville at age 84. Moore was a member of Elvis Presley's band the Blue Moon Boys and his signature licks can be heard on Presley songs including "That's All Right," "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "Mystery Train." He's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. No public service is planned at this time.
