Louisiana Flood Relief: Eighteen St. Louis radio and television stations have partnered to help the American Red Cross raise money for Louisiana flood relief. The initiative was spearheaded by Emmis/St. Louis SVP/GM John Beck and particpants include Hubbard's WIL and iHeartMedia's KSD. The effort provides for a volunteer phone bank that will remain open for donations through Sunday (8/28) at 1-800-984-8979. Donations are also being accepted here. Local entities including the Enterpirse-Rent-A-Car Foundation, Wells Fargo Advisors and Hauck Family Foundation have pledged at least $200,000 to the effort so far.

The Broadcasters Foundation Of America is providing emergency grants to broadcasters affected not only by the Louisiana flooding, but by the ongoing wildfires in California. Some of the funds have already been distributed to employees of companies including Cumulus, Guaranty and Townsquare. The rest is expected to be dispersed within a week.
