Written In The Superstars: West Virginia Radio's WKWS (The Wolf)/Charleston, WV has adopted a Classic Country format and rebranded as "96.1 KWS Superstar Country," airing a gold-based playlist that includes titles from the '80s, '90s and early 2000s. Concurrently, WVR/Elkins, WV radio vet Wolf Bowers has replaced Kidd Conley and Miss Amanda in mornings; market vet Stacie Roberts succeeds Monica Black in middays; Dir./Programming Johnny Vincent remains in afternoons; and the cluster's Reid Thrush comes aboard for voice-tracked nights. Conley and Black have departed; Amanda remains with the company in another capacity. Country competition in the market includes Bristol's WQBE, which led with a 16.4 (1) in Nielsen's Spring 2016 diary survey. WKWS posted a 5.9 (6t). Listen here.
