Office Party: Bob DiPiero received the Icon Award, Keith Urban received the Champion Award and Ross Copperman was named Songwriter of the Year (for the second consecutive year) at last night's (11/7) BMI Country Awards, held at the PRO's Nashville offices. DiPiero was honored with tribute performances of his songs by Brooks & Dunn ("You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Out Of The Girl"), Reba McEntire ("Till You Love Me") and Jon Pardi ("Daddy's Money"). Past recipients of the award include Mac Davis, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill and Willie Nelson. Maren Morris and the Nashville School of the Arts Choir serenaded Urban with his first No. 1, "But For The Grace Of God," using guitars Urban donated to the school. Copperman's cuts include Kenny Chesney's "Noise" and "Setting The World On Fire," Luke Bryan's "Strip It Down" and LoCash's "I Know Somebody." Florida Georgia Line's "H.O.L.Y." – written by Busbee and Nate Cyphert – was named Song of the Year. Sony/ATV Music Publishing Nashville continued its decade-plus winning streak, receiving Publisher of the Year honors, with 26 of the 50 most-performed songs of the year.
