Sales Away: “The culture is a direct reflection of leadership in the building,” said Renda Regional Market Mgr. Bill Berry who, along with Neuhoff/Decatur, IL VP/GM Kathy Byerly and Cox/Houston OM & KKBQ PD Johnny Chiang, shared their philosophies during “Programming Working with Sales." Each brought their own perspective on tearing down departmental silos and opening lines of communication. Key takeaways included respecting each other’s priorities, keeping in constant communication, collaborating with all departments and employees, not dwelling on the things that are out of your control and learning the communication styles of others to help improve relationships. “Our number one job is to make sure our DOS or GSM hits budget," Chiang reminded attendees. “The easiest way to do that is with ratings, but that’s more than just Nielsen numbers on the books.”
