Washington Post: Former Tyler Classic Hits KOMA/Oklahoma City PD/morning host Kent Jones has been named Stephens/Spokane, WA OM overseeing the cluster that includes Country KDRK; he will also serve as Classic Hits KEYF & Variety Hits KBBD PD and will host mornings for KEYF. KDRK PD Jamie Patrick has served as Asst. OM since 2016 (CAT 4/29/16), but the OM role has been vacant since Greg Tillotson’s departure in 2018 (CAT 3/12/18). Stephens acquired the cluster from Mapleton last year (CAT 7/2/19). “Kent has been an independent contractor for us over the past four years, so this feels a little bit like a promotion from within,” says SVP/Programming Bob Thornton. “His success in both morning drive and programming made him an incredible candidate for this position.” Jones departed KOMA in January after more than 31 years with the company. His prior career stops include time in Indianapolis; Columbus, OH; Evansville, IN; Owensboro, KY; and Athens, OH. Reach Jones here.
