Bits & Pieces: Entercom KFRG/Riverside The Wake Up Call morning co-hosts David Bugenske and Kelli Green found a new way to talk about smart speakers. Forget doing a liner during the 9am hour; the pair, instead, worked up a bit involving Green sharing news about Bugenske’s girlfriend and a certain surprise announcement. “No more quiet nights at their house,” reads a paper held up to the camera by Green. Watch the bit play out here.

iHeartMedia KASE/Austin afternoon personality Alek Halverson helmed a water drive-through yesterday (3/3) in the station parking lot. “Lots of people still have issues after the winter storms here,” Halverson tells Country Aircheck. With the 13 pallets of water that had been donated to the station, Halverson and PD Jason McCollim elected to give back. See Halverson’s invitation to the community here.

The Connoisseur WFRE/Frederick, MD team wrapped their Free Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon Feb. 19 raising a total of $472,991 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Our entire staff gave 110% over the course of two days, pouring their hearts and souls into this year’s event because the need is so great and the kids are so special,” says PD Andy Webb. See the unveiling of the final total via Facebook here.

ADX WYCT/Pensacola owners Dave and Mary Hoxeng were honored during the 61st Annual Pensacola Area Commitment To Excellence (PACE) Awards and were recognized as the Spirit of Pensacola for their commitment to the area. “We came here to build [WYCT] Cat Country and quickly discovered how wonderful the people are,” say the Hoxengs.
