» Feed The Need: Hearty congrats to Lady AntebellumCapitol/Nashville and the fans on topping the overall and country album sales charts with 481,000 debut-week sales for the group's Need You Now. The Nielsen SoundScan total is the biggest debut by a country artist since Taylor Swift's Fearless bowed with 592,000 units in November 2008.
 

» Moby Moves: The Moby In The Morning Radio Network Dir./Sales & Affiliate Relations Jay Noble has added PD duties for the syndicator. He succeeds Dene Hallam, who passed away last November (CAT 11/23). "I'm so pleased that we’ve been able to fill the void that Dene left," says Moby. "No one can replace him in our hearts. He was one of a kind and we'll always miss him." In other Moby news, New Broadcast Partners' Ken Moultrie is now consulting for the network, and middayer Sandy Weaver has added MD duties.
 



» Wagner Exits: Nine North Dir./SE/SW Promotion Ted Wagner has exited after six months with the company. Wagner's resume includes stops at Montage, Columbia, Equity and RCA. He can be reached at 615-613-3292 or here. Dave Collins, who joined Nine North Monday (2/1), is handling the SW region, while Pres. Larry Pareigis tells Country Aircheck a SE replacement will be named soon.

» Final Countdown: The CRB has extended the CRS 2010 $99 Unemployment Rate deadline to Feb. 15. The rate only includes educational events and songwriter showcases. In addition, the trade organization is offering $225 Single-Day passes, which provide access to all daytime activities including luncheons, panels and songwriter showcases, available for on-site purchase only. Music City Jam and New Faces of Country Music Show tickets are not included in either rate, but may be purchased separately.
 

» Farmer In The Tel: Former TLC While You Were Out host/handyman Evan Farmer is the new host of CMT's weekly Top 20 Countdown. He replaces Lance Smith, who left the network in November (CAT 11/23) after a decade. Farmer will make his debut Friday (2/5) at 11am.
 



» Pub Talk: Songwriter/producer Blake Mevis ("Fool Hearted Memory," "Brokenheartsville") is now overseeing day-to-day operations of Cauley Music Group, in addition to writing exclusively for the publisher. Also, the company has signed Danny Wells ("Check Yes Or No," "These Days") as an exclusive writer.
 

» Ford Tough: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Ford Community Day has been rescheduled for Saturday (2/6). The Museum was closed owing to inclement weather on Saturday's (1/30) original date, as well as Sunday (1/31). Visitors will be treated to free admission, courtesy of the Ford Motor Company Fund. All of the museum's exhibits will be open from 9am-5pm in addition to two Songwriter Sessions featuring Georgia Middleman and Dave Berg at 11:30am and Leslie Satcher at 1:30pm.
