» Kelly To Indy: Cumulus/Huntsville OM Joe Kelly has been named to the same post for the company's Indianapolis cluster, which includes Country WFMS. Kelly will be programming Top 40 WRWM. Prior to Huntsville, where he also programmed Top 40, Kelly was PD at Country WRBT/Harrisburg.
 
 

» Abi's Road: Former Curb Coor./Promotion Abi Durham has officially joined Stoney Creek as Mgr./Northeast Promotion, a move we tipped yesterday (CAT 2/8). She will report to new GM/Operations April Rider, with whom she worked at Curb. Durham succeeds Stacey Blythe, who moved to Republic Nashville last month (CAT 1/26). » Samantha New: Curb intern Samantha DePrez has been named Coor./Promotion for the label. She replaces Abi Durham, who left the label for Stoney Creek yesterday (see above). DePerez is already on the job and can be reached here.
 

» Kix Tested, Radio Approved: Citadel Media's American Country Countdown host Kix Brooks is offering a 60-second weekday feature Just For Kix. Beginning March 1, Brooks will answer fan-submitted questions in each segment. In addition, ACC can now be heard on WUSN/Chicago, WXTU/Philadelphia, WPOC/Baltimore, WGAR/Cleveland and WMZQ/Washington, DC.

» Benefit News: More than $1.3 million has been raised to date through Compassion International's partnership with more than 500 multi-format stations. The funds are providing food, water, shelter and medical and counseling services to Haitians affected by last month's devastating earthquake. Compassion launched the nationwide initiative Feb. 1, providing, in this format, free Country-specific artist liners, information, spots and resources.
 



» PJ Hall Of Fame: Lyric Street is offering an one-hour, inventory free Valentine's Day Radio Special hosted by Sarah Buxton. The show will include songs from Rascal Flatts, Bucky Covington, Love And Theft and the Feb. 23 CD release Sarah Buxton and the Pajama Sessions. Download it here.
 

» Little Bit Of Tofu Fried? Atlantic/Home Grown/BPP's Zac Brown Band have responded to PETA's suggestions that the band make their No. 1 hit "Chicken Fried" and "eat-and-greets" more animal-friendly. The group tweeted Monday (2/8), "Dear, PETA: Plants are living creatures, too … Bacon had a mother, but so did Pickle. It takes life to support life – welcome to the planet." According to Thursday's (2/4) PETA blog, the organization reportedly sent the band a basket of "delicious, protein-rich faux meats" to make their offer "more tempting."
 

» Medal Heads: Lyric Street's Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" songwriters Jay DeMarcus (Rascal Flatts), Hillary Lindsey and James Slater have re-written the song for a version to be featured during the upcoming Winter Olympics. According to their publicist, the band also shot a video clip for the song, which will be included in an AT&T soundtrack with approximately 10 other artists. Details will be revealed Thursday (2/11).
 

» Coming June: 19/Arista's Carrie Underwood has added nine more dates to her upcoming Play On tour, which also features openers Craig Morgan and the Sons Of Sylvia. Orginally scheduled to end May 30, the tour, which opens March 11 in Reading, PA, has been extended into June. Complete schedule here.
 

» Chronicle: Our condolences are extended to the friends, family and colleagues of KSLO-AM/Lafayette, LA morning host René Fontenot, who died following a heart attack Sunday (2/7). He was 71. Fontenot was a member of the Louisiana Entertainment Hall of Fame and was a Louisiana Broadcasters Association award winner. Funeral services will be held in Opelousas, LA tomorrow (2/10).
