» The Boss: Clear Channel's WKKT/Charlotte OM/PD Bruce Logan is acting GM for the five-station cluster following the departure of Pres./Market Manager Mike Kenney. Previously in the same capacity for CC/Cleveland, Kenney moved to Charlotte in August (CAT 8/27).

» 3 CPO Facts To Know: According to a new Arbitron report issued today (2/10), in cell-phone-only households, the Country format does slightly better than in landline-only or landline/cell-phone combination households. CPO households scored a 2.2 average-quarter-hour rating among persons 12+ in Fall '09, compared to 1.9 for either landline-only or combined landline/cell-phone. Cell-phone households contribute to higher ratings for radio in general, too: The AQH overall rating for radio formats of LL+CP households (compared to LL only) was up 0.6 in mornings, up 1.1 in middays, up 1.3 in afternoons, up 3.9 in evenings and up 1.1 during weekends. And by demo, AQH ratings in LL+CP households are up 0.1 among 25-34s and 35-54s, but are the same with adults 18-24.

» Chronicle: Our condolences are extended to Big Kenny Alphin and the friends and family of philanthropist Walt Ratterman. According to the Oregonian, Ratterman's remains were found Sunday (2/7) at Port-au-Prince's Hotel Montana, where he was staying to build rural health clinics when the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck last month. Alphin had traveled to the country to find his lost friend, with whom Alphin had visited Sudan in 2007.
