» Qantum Leaps: Qantum's WKKR/Auburn, AL PD/AM driver Van Riggs has been upped to OM of the cluster, while continuing his responsibilities at 'KKR. Reach him here. Concurrently, part-time news reporter Donny Blakenship has added middays, replacing Zach Fox, who picks up PD duties at sister Hot AC WMXA.

Riggs and Fox fill the vacancy of Tige Rodgers, who is headed to sister WGTR/Myrtle Beach, SC as PD/MD March 1. Rodgers will also join Daniel Baker in mornings. OM Johnny Walker had been programming 'GTR since Brian Sims' exit in November (CAT 11/12).

 

» Hot Air: Nothing official from the network or the ACM, but we're hearing that nominees for the 45th Annual ACM Awards will be announced on the CBS Early Show Tuesday, March 2. Perhaps not so coincidentally, host Reba and Blake Shelton are expected to be in New York that day. The ACM Awards air live from Las Vegas April 18 on CBS-TV.
 



» DOS Command: Cumulus/Green Bay, WI Mgr./Regional Sales Becky Gilreath has been named to the newly created DOS post for Beasley/Fayetteville, NC's six-station cluster, which includes Country WKML. She began her career in radio 25 years ago at Beasley's WGSS (now 'KML) before stops in Albuquerque, Colorado Springs and Raleigh.
 

» Chamber Made: ADX's WYCT/Pensacola, FL owners Mary and Dave Hoxeng were honored at the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's 50th Annual PACE Awards as Business Leaders of the Year Tuesday (2/16). The Hoxengs launched WYCT in 2004 and participate in day-to-day operations of it and sister News/Talk WNRP.

» Kibble & Hits: 19/Arista's Carrie Underwood has partnered with dog food company Pedigree to promote the company's sixth annual Adoption Drive. Underwood and her rat terrier Ace are featured in public service announcements on Facebook encouraging people to become a fan of the drive. For every Facebook fan, Pedigree will donate eight ounces of dry food to shelter dogs (up to $1 million). Pedigree will also sponsor her Play On tour opening March 11 in Reading, PA.
