» String Theory:
Gaylord's WSM-AM/Nashville is launching a series of weekly artist-hosted programs beginning March 15.
Dierks Bentley's The Thread (Mondays 2-3pm CT), Pam Tillis' Lettin' My Roots Show (Tuesdays 2-3pm) and Jim Lauderdale's The Jim Lauderdale Show (Wednesdays 2-3pm) will also air on wsmonline.com and will be available via iTunes.
On Thursdays, different guest artists will host, beginning with Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor (March 18) and Diamond Rio's Dana Williams (March 25).
The programs are live or pre-taped depending on the artists' schedules.
Shannon McCombs and Robin Roberts will co-produce.
"Putting this radio show together is the most fun I've had in a long time," Bentley says.
"I named it 'The Thread' because it's my chance to go back to all the music that influenced me ...
it's artists and songs that tie us all together as a genre."

» Gone Country:
After nearly four years in Active Rock, Pamal's WZMR (The Edge)/Albany, NY has flipped to Country to compete with Regent's market-leading WGNA.
'ZMR's 104.9 frequency has been Country before, for three books between Spring and Fall of 2005, earning modest ratings.
Now as "The Cat," WZMR is debuting with 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free.
No staff have been appointed yet under GM Chuck Benfer.
WZMR, which earned a 1.5 in the Fall '09 Arbitron (tied for No.
17), has a Class A signal of 530 watts, compared to WGNA's Class B 12.5 kw.
The flip follows Pamal's recent format shifts of its local News/Talk WROW and AC WKLI.

» Flipping Out: After just a year as Country, Doud Media's KGXL (The Wolf)/Abilene switched to News/Talk as KFNA (Fox News Abilene).
No personnel have been lost in the transition, as staffers have shifted over to or remained with sister CHR KORQ.
Meanwhile, Gap Broadcasting has swapped formats on its two AM frequencies: Classic Country KYYW yesterday moved from 5-kw 1470 kHz to 500-watt 1280 kHz.
That enabled Talk KSLI, which had been on 1280, to take the stronger 1470 signal.

» 19 Entertainment:
Somewhere out there a lucky label rep is holding a No.
19 "West Coast Mike Pack" laminate handed to them during CRS by either Mike Moore (KWJJ/Portland), Mike Krinik (KBWF/San Francisco) or Mike Preston (KKWF/Seattle).
Country Aircheck held a drawing yesterday, with the winner receiving an add on all three Entercom Wolf stations.
To that winner, who still hasn't claimed their prize, we say: Think how happy your veep will be when you pull that rabbit from your hat or, how disappointed when they realize you left it in the cab on your way to the airport.
If we don't hear from No.
19 by noon CT Wednesday (3/3) – email here – we'll draw another number.
