Country Aircheck
 October 27, 2009

» More R&R: Details are emerging since we told you in last night's Country Aircheck Weekly that Tony Randall and Kris Rochester will soon be back on the air. Cumulus intends to launch their show, which the duo will own, Nov. 9 on five stations. It will originate from Nashville, with the pair using the studio previously used by Kix Brooks to record American Country Countdown. After the initial roll-out, which will serve as a shake-down cruise to get all systems up and operating, Cumulus will place the show on more of its stations. Cumulus also has right of first refusal in all markets where it has a station. Future plans include making the show available in all markets.

» Hired? Wait, Can You Say That Again? We just like the way that sounds. Dial Global has hired 18 additional full- and part-time air personalities across its satellite-delivered music formats, with EVP/Programming Beau Phillips telling Country Aircheck the expansion includes roughly a half-dozen Country jocks. The move is designed to increase DG's ability to provide customized local breaks. "It really allows stations to have high-quality talent talking about what's going on in their particular market," Phillips says. Revised airstaff lineups will be announced in mid-November.

» Yo, Bra: Kudos to WFRE/Frederick, MD, which wrapped up its month-long Bras For A Cause with a counting party this weekend that ended with an acoustic performance from Joey+Rory.
