Better To Give: Here are some of the ways good folks around our industries are giving back this season:
- Clear Channel's KNIX/Phoenix morning teamers Ben & Matt surpassed their month-long Million Can Crusade goal by half a million cans, with more than 400,000 donated this morning (11/25). The drive benefits the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which serves 3,500 meals a day.
- Simmons' KEGA/Salt Lake City raised $110,250 (8,000 turkeys) during its third annual Gift For A Gift campaign. The station encouraged listeners to donate $10 to all area Harmon's Groceries, to purchase turkeys for the Utah Food Bank.
- Lincoln Financial's KYGO/Denver AM drivers Kelly & Rider hosted the station's ninth annual Feed The Need, which raised $22,875 for the Denver Rescue Mission. In five hours yesterday (11/24), KYGO collected enough money for 11,914 meals.
- Rocky Comfort's Tracy Lawrence and friends fried 400 turkeys for the 4th Annual Tracy Lawrence Mission Possible yesterday (11/24). Lorrie Morgan, Darryl Worley, Burns & Poe, Trent Tomlinson, The Roys, Ash Bowers and Big D and Bubba were among those in attendance. Almost $10,000 and 600 turkeys were donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission.
