» In Case You Missed It: Universal South Dir./National Promotion Mike Wilson returns to Sony/Nashville as Dir./Promotion for its Columbia imprint (Breaking News 12/14). As we also wrote, Wilson succeeds David Friedman, who moves to the newly created post of Dir./Field Promotion and will also handle an as-yet unspecified region.

Hot Air: In other Universal South news, Mid-Atlantic/Northeast Regional Matt Corbin resigned recently and left the building Friday (12/11). He's believed to be headed for a post with Michael Powers at Bigger Picture. And, what of Uni South? Rumors have been swirling for months that the imprint would either close or buy/merge with Toby Keith's label, Show Dog/Nashville. Sources close to the situation tell CA that the latter of the two scenarios is now in motion. If the final details of the deal come together, expect an announcement as early as this week.



» Jordan Crossing: Stroudavarious NE rep RJ Jordan has been named Dir./Northeast Marketing & Promotion for Golden Music/Nashville. Jordan joined Stroudavarious in July of this year, and his prior stops include Country Thunder and 903 Music. "RJ digs deep and gets the job done well," says Golden EVP Lisa Strickland. "His high-road ethics and out-of-this-world creativity make him a great rep." Jordan, who started today (12/14), can be reached at 615-335-0718 or here. » Got A Jones For Casey: Former six-year Washington Mutual EVP/CFO Tom Casey has been appointed EVP/CFO of Clear Channel Communications, succeeding Randall Mays, who announced in late October (CAT 10/28) plans to "scale back his time commitment" to CC and shift to Vice Chairman. His brother, CEO Mark Mays, has been temporarily handling CFO duties since then. Casey assumes his new post January 1, 2010, and previously worked as VP of General Electric and SVP/CFO of GE Capital.

» Tim P. In Tempe: The new SVP/Market Manager for CBS Radio/Phoenix is Tim Pohlman, whose duties include Country KMLE, as well as Oldies KOOL and Rhythmic Top 40 KZON. He succeeds Mark Waters, who we told you last month (CAT 11/18) would be leaving his post at an unspecified date. The move marks a return to CBS Radio for Pohlman, who most recently was Managing Partner/CEO for Riviera Broadcast Group, overseeing its four FM stations in Phoenix and Las Vegas. He earlier was Market Manager for then-Infinity (now CBS Radio)/Los Angeles. Pohlman reports to CBS Radio EVP/Operations Scott Herman.

» Toys For Cubs: Kudos to KDBR (The Bear)/Kalispell, MT for collecting more than 3,500 new toys during its 48 Hours For Toys For Tots drive last week. Morning co-host John Michaels camped out 40 feet above the Flathead Valley for the duration of the event (pictured). According to the station, they filled a 24-foot trailer and received a couple thousand dollars.

» Heart Of Gold: Capitol's Lady Antebellum are included in the lineup of performers for the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year gala and concert honoring Neil Young. The group joins Jackson Browne, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Dave Matthews, James Taylor and host Jack Black for the Jan. 29 event. Proceeds benefit MusiCares, which provides support for music people in times of financial and medical crisis. Details here.

» Lifetime Network: The 2010 T.J. Martell Foundation Honors Gala will recognize Brooks & Dunn with the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, former Senator Bill Frist and Michael Bolton will also be honored. The soirée is scheduled for March 22 at Nashville's Hutton Hotel. Table sponsorships range from $10,000 to $100,000, with individual tickets at the $1,000 and $500 levels. Details here.

» Wall Bling: The RIAA has issued quintuple-platinum certification for Taylor Swift's Fearless.

» Chronicle: Our condolences are extended to the friends and family of radio vet Jim Keating, who died yesterday (12/13). He was 69. During his career, Keating served as GM of Clear Channel/Ft. Myers and headed Gulf Radio Management Services. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Naples Memorial Funeral Home.
