Canaan's Land: Mercury's Canaan Smith has signed a publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis. Smith's songwriting credits include Jason Aldean's "Black Tears" and Love and Theft's "Runaway." He's currently working on his debut album with producers Brett Beavers and Luke Wooten.
