Chronicle: Our condolences to the friends and family of former WSM-AM/Nashville PD and media vet Al Wyntor, who passed away yesterday (7/5). His resume includes TNN-TV's Video Morning (see him in action here), the syndicated radio feature Nashville Insider, WHK-AM/Cleveland and WDAF/Kansas City. He also hosted mornings on WSM, was a longtime emcee of the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree and was writing three novels at his passing. Former Opryland USA Group PD Gregg Lindahl recruited Wyntor to WSM in 1984 and tells Country Aircheck, "He was a great guy and a real pro; genuine, caring and funny with a very original and uniquely Al Wyntor wit. He was one to volunteer for anything that needed to be done ... I'll miss my friend." Arrangements are pending.
