The Big 10: "We have been blessed with the vision of Mayor Karl Dean." So said BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta at a presentation this morning (9/1) celebrating the label group's 10-year anniversary. Borchetta said he and Mike Curb partnered with the city and Nashville Metro Schools to start Music Makes Us, an effort to improve music literacy and student participation. "We need to give back more," says Borchetta. "We do good but we need to do better." To that end, he presented Mayor Dean and school district representatives a check for $100,000. Dean says in the past three years the program's accomplishments include restoring band programs at 33 schools and creating new choral programs at 10. The label group's Danielle Bradbery performed, and joins Borchetta on SiriusXM today. More on the program here.
