Chronicle: Our condolences to the family and friends of singer Billy Joe Royal, 73, who died in his sleep Tuesday (10/6) in his Morehead City, NC home. Royal was known for his 1965 pop Top 10 "Down In The Boondocks" and '80s country hits including "I'll Pin A Note On Your Pillow" and "Tell It Like It Is." Arrangements are pending.

Our sympathies are also with former WBCS and WKLB/Boston afternoon personality Jimmy Roberts, who passed away Sunday (10/4) in Jensen Beach, FL following a two-year battle with cancer. Roberts was at 'KLB in the mid '90s and has other stops at Classic Hits WROR/Boston, Top 40 WPRO/Providence and Classic Hits WOLZ/Fort Myers. He most recently served as PD/morning host at WHLG/Port Saint Lucie, FL. Memorial donations can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL, 34997.
