Update: Capitol Following today's (5/20) Breaking News that Capitol Dir./Southeast Promotion Bobby Young has been promoted to VP/Promotion comes the news that current VP/Promotion Shane Allen is exiting the label, effective May 27. "This is my decision, and it was not an easy one," Allen tells Country Aircheck. "But I'm very excited about the new opportunity that has been presented to me."

Allen joined Capitol in 2007 as VP/Radio Strategies & Field Marketing. He left for a short stint with Red Light Management at the begining of 2009, but returned to Capitol in August of that year as VP/Promotion. When the label merged with UMG/Nashville in 2012, he held that title for all four of UMGN's imprints – EMI Nashville, MCA, Mercury and Capitol. Reach him here.

Hot Air: No one is commenting officially on Allen's "new opportunity," but don't be surprised if he is soon reunited with Sony/Nashville EVP/Promotion & Artist Development Steve Hodges, with whom Allen worked with at both Capitol and at UMGN.
