Schmidt Scholarship: Middle Tennessee State University's College of Media and Entertainment, in partnership with the family of Savannah Rae Schmidt, has established a scholarship in her name. Schmidt, who passed away May 19 (CAT 5/19), is the daughter of Schmidt Relations Pres./CEO Jessie Schmidt and keyboard player Joey Schmidt (Alan Jackson, Josh Turner). She had just completed her junior year at MTSU and was studying Public Relations. The scholarship – funded by private donations and managed by the MTSU Foundation – will be awarded to a student pursuing an MTSU degree in PR in the music business. The goal will be to award the first one in fall 2017.
