Chronicle: Guitarist Leon Rhodes died Saturday (12/9) at age 85. Rhodes played with artists including Lefty Frizzell and Ray Price before becoming a member of Ernest Tubb's Texas Troubadours band from 1959-1966, followed by more than three decades as a member of the Grand Ole Opry Staff Band. He was also a member of the Hee Haw band for nearly 25 years and was honored by the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014 in the Nashville Cats series. Visitation will be today (12/11) from 4-8pm and tomorrow (12/12) from 11am-1pm, with services to follow, at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138).
