Reve-News: The BMG music division of Bertelsmann has reported revenue of €905 million ($982m) for 2023, a 4.5% increase from the €8663m of 2022. Operating EBITDA was €194m ($210m), up from last year's €195m. More here.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reports U.S. music revenue grew 8% in 2023 for a total estimated retail value of $17.1 billion. This was the eigth consecutive annual increase. Streaming accounted for 84% of revenue at $14.4b, with paid subscriptions making up the largest growth driver. Physical sales totalled $1.9b (up 11%), as vinyl sales grew 10% to $1.4b and accounted for 71% of physical. For the second time since 1987, vinyl albums outsold CDs in terms of units (43m vs. 37m).
