RCA SVP/Promotion Dennis Reese is leaving the label as of April 1, seven years to the day after he joined the company (Breaking News 3/27/17). No official word from Sony, but the position has been eliminated and EVP/Promotion & Artist Development Steve Hodges is expected to oversee the RCA promotion team going forward.

"Seven years ago, I left the pop music world and took a chance by coming to Nashville to support country music," Reese says. "In that time, I’ve met so many incredible people and I’m so proud of what our RCA team has accomplished. We’ve promoted 24 No. 1 songs, including 11 from Kane Brown, Nate Smith’s recent record-tying 10-week No. 1 'World On Fire,'  and No. 1s from Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion, Corey Kent and Niko Moon.

"Thank you to Country radio programmers, Sony Music Nashville and all the artist managers for opening the doors and allowing me to be a part of this special world called 'country music.'  Most of all, thank you to the artists. The trust you gave me with your music means everything. I hope you always felt my heart, soul and passion for your art."

Reese's career in Pop promotion started at Columbia in 1993. He served as SVP/Promotion at Elektra from 2000-2004 and SVP/Promotion at Capitol from 2004-2015. His career began in radio and includes programming stops in Miami, Orlando and Charlotte.
