Flipping Out: Townsquare has flipped Classic Country KWKH-AM/Shreveport to Sports as "AM 1130 The Tiger." Programming is a mixture of LSU sports (as referenced in the moniker), New Orleans Saints football, Fox Sports Radio, and local sports talk shows. Once home to The Louisiana Hayride, the celebrated 50kw clear channel station helped launch the careers of Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Webb Pierce, Jim Reeves and Faron Young. Country Radio Hall of Famers Frank Page and Larry Scott also called KWKH home over the years. Townsquare EVP Alex Berkett says, “Our decision to flip our second Country station in Shreveport to sports does not affect our unwavering commitment to the Country format across our company’s footprint. In many of our markets our Country stations hold leadership positions, including market-leading KXKS in Shreveport.”
