Broken Bow & RED Launch Label:
BBR Music Group and RED Distribution have launched Red Bow Records, which will be headquartered in Nashville and operate under the BBR umbrella. Promotion vet Renee Leymon has been named VP/Promotion, Stoney Creek Southwest rep Shelley Hargis moves to the new sister label as Dir./National Promotion and Kendra Whitehead has joined as Mgr./West Coast Promotion. Additional staff announcements will be forthcoming. Red Bow's first artists are Joe Nichols and Rachel Farley.
"We could have done this ourselves; however, we have a longstanding, trusted friendship and professional relationship with RED Distribution and RED President Bob Morelli," says BBR Music Group President/CEO Benny Brown. RED, a division of Sony, has distributed Broken Bow releases since 2002 and the deal has been renewed for five more years. Morelli adds, "We are thrilled to be expanding our very successful relationship with Benny Brown and BBR Music Group."
Leymon, most recently with Arista and long-tenured at Lyric Street, can be reached at 615-417-7484 or here. Hargis spent four years with Broken Bow before moving to Stoney Creek three years ago; reach her at 615-429-2600 or here. Whitehead is a 20-year sales, marketing and promotion vet most recently working in real estate. She's also the sister of BBR West rep Layna Bunt; she will be based in California and can be reached at 408-316-2534 or here.
