Auction Speaks Louder: Clear Channel's WACO/Waco, TX is organizing an online auction of artist memorabilia with proceeds benefitting the West, TX fire department, whose members were among the first-responders to Wednesday evening's (4/17) massive explosion at the West fertilizer plant. The blast occured less than 20 miles from Waco, injuring more than 200 residents and killing an estimated 12 others. Artists, labels or management companies able to donate items for the auction are encouraged to contact WACO APD/MD Jennifer Allen here, or CC RPM Zack Owen here.

Across the state, CBS Radio/Houston's five-station cluster, which includes Country KILT, is teaming up for a joint relief effort benefitting West. Stations have set up a donation site at a Kroger in nearby Pearland from 2pm-7pm and are collecting bottled water, blankets, toiletries and non-perishable food items. They will attempt to fill an 18-wheeler full of supplies, which will head towards West tomorrow morning. More information on the KILT website here.
