Gator Days: WXCY/Wilmington OM/PD/MD/PM driver Dave Hovel is leaving the Delmarva Broadcasting Country outlet after 24 years to take the PD post at Renda's WWGR (Gator Country)/Ft. Myers. Hovel joined the station in 1989 as PD and rose to OM in 1992. He starts July 10 and takes Gator's programming reins from OM Randy Savage, who will continue as OM and PD of the cluster's three other stations, Talk WGUF, Adult Hits WSGL and AC WJGO. Hovel will be at WXCY through July 5 and can be congratulated here. Meanwhile, WXCY GM Bob Bloom is searching for Hovel's replacement (Gig Alert 6/10); materials here.
