Palmer Goes To WAR: Former Lyric Street Sr. Dir./Promotion Chris Palmer has been named VP/Promotion for Warner Music Nashville's recently formed second promotion team, which will be known as Warner Atlantic Reprise (WAR). He starts June 14. "I'm extremely excited to get to work with [President/CEO] John Esposito and, of course, [SVP Promotion] Chris Stacey, who I've been friends with for 15 years," Palmer tells Country Aircheck. "They've really got a new energy at Warner Music, and the Warner Atlantic Reprise team is a terrific extension of what they've already begun." The long-tenured Warner Bros. promotion team under VP Bob Reeves is now designated Warner Music Nashville (WMN). The two teams are not label specific, but "artist specific" and will focus on individual artist projects from various Warner labels.

Palmer was one of the original Lyric Street staffers and exited the company after 12 years last month (CAT 4/14) when parent Disney shuttered it as a stand-alone label. He joined Lyric Street as a regional from WGTR/Myrtle Beach, SC and rose to co-National in October 2008 at Carolwood, which was folded back into Lyric Street in November 2009.
