Zarling Up At BMLG: Big Machine Label Group VP/Promotion & New Media Strategy John Zarling has been promoted to SVP/Partnership Marketing & Promotion Strategy. He leads a rebranded team at the group, which is comprised of labels Big Machine, Valory and Republic Nashville. His division includes Dir./National Promotion Strategy Mandy McCormack, Dir./Partnership Marketing Jackie Campbell and Coord./Partnership Marketing & Promotion Strategy Christine Drexel.

"John Zarling and I will mark 10 years together in 2014," BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta says. "There's no earthly way that the Big Machine Label Group would be what it is today without his undying support, belief, friendship, vision, creativity ... I literally could go on and on. JZ is simply one of the brightest execs in the business and one of my favorite people on the planet. I couldn't imagine doing what I do every day without him. And I hope I never have to."

"I am honored and excited to be given the ability to be creative in exploring new business opportunities," Zarling says. "I stand with an incredible team of individuals whose passion and drive are infectious. Scott has brought so many great artists and executives together here at this company ... I can’t wait to see what new roads we will be able to go down in the years ahead."

Prior to joining Big Machine at its inception in 2005, Zarling spent six years with UMG/Nashville, where he was eventually promoted to Mgr./Charts & Syndication for MCA, Mercury and Dreamworks. He was elevated to VP/Promotion & New Media Strategy for BMLG in 2011 (CAT 5/17/11). Congratulate him here.
