Clear Channel & CMT Partner Around Alan: As tipped last week (Hot Air 11/18), Clear Channel and CMT have entered into a multi-platform partnership to develop programming and events across radio, television and digital, as well as drive cross-promotional opportunities involving both companies' country assets. The deal includes CMT personality Cody Alan taking the helm of Premiere's After MidNite Jan. 6 under the CMT After MidNite with Cody Alan brand. Premiere will also syndicate the daily 7pm-midnight CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan beginning Jan. 1.

Alan is CMT After MidNite's Exec. Producer, Dingo O'Brien is Supervising Producer and Curt Miller is Producer. Alan and O'Brian will continue to oversee CMT Radio Live production with Producer Cory Linton in collaboration with CC EVP/Programming Clay Hunnicutt and Premiere Dir./Country Programming Justin Cole.

"I feel like Jimmy Fallon right now," Alan says. "To be named host of such a highly regarded late-night franchise is an exciting and humbling honor. We’ll bring new energy, lots of star power and deep resources only CMT and Clear Channel can deliver."

"I like to think there was an inevitability to this partnership," says CMT President Brian Philips. "I am ecstatic to once again work with former colleagues John Sykes and Tom Poleman, among CCM+E’s many forward-thinking creative executives. Country is enjoying a big moment. Clear Channel and CMT will capture it, celebrate it and spread the excitement across America to hundreds of millions."

"By leveraging our combined national broadcast, digital and event content, we’ll now have the opportunity to reach even more Country fans than ever before and provide even more unique experiences with music and artists, while also delivering unmatched results for our partners," says CC President/National Programming Platforms Tom Poleman. "We’re also excited to work with someone of Cody’s caliber. He’s a household name in the country music industry, and his energy, passion and charm make him the ideal host to connect our audience across these incredible platforms."

After MidNite has been hosted by a succession of artists since the July 31 departure of host and show founder Blair Garner, who is now featured in mornings on Cumulus' WNSH/New York (Breaking News 7/11). CMT Radio Live was developed in partnership with Cumulus, which recently announced the launch of its own Nash Nights Live with Shawn Parr as host (Breaking News 11/11).
