Gone Country: Rolling Stone will launch a country music news website early next year and is opening offices in Nashville with 10-15 editorial staffers, Ad Age reports. "There's a really big void in the digital coverage of country music as far as giving it the serious attention it deserves," says Rollingstone.com Dir. Gus Wenner, who adds the format's popularity is simliar to that of NASCAR. "I saw some similarities and thought it could be an opportunity for Rolling Stone." While there are no plans for a regular print version of Rolling Stone Country, publishers are planning a country-themed print issue to coincide with the launch of the website. The Boot founder Beville Darden-Dunkerly will be Sr. Editor. More here.
