Goin' To The Big D:
Guaranty's WTGE (100.7 The Tiger)/Baton Rouge, LA will add Compass Media Networks' Big D & Bubba in mornings, effective Jan. 6. It's a return to the station for the pair, whose show was launched there in 1996 and ran until 1999. The move comes soon after crosstown Clear Channel WYNK replaced them with the Bobby Bones Show (CAT 12/4). "We’re thrilled about the return of Big D and Bubba," says VP/MM Gordy Rush. "They’ve been the No. 1 Country morning show in this market for over 15 years. They’ve always had a tremendous bond with our local community." Compass CEO Peter Kosann adds, "Christmas just got here a little early. Thank you, Guaranty Broadcasting, for ensuring our winning ways continue in Baton Rouge." Kosann says more affiliates will be revealed in the new year. No word on what will happen with the Tiger Wakin' Krewe – Chris Powers and Alabama Anna.
