Augustine Leaves MCA:
MCA Sr. Dir./West Coast Promotion Marlene Augustine retired from the label Friday (10/31). Augustine started in radio at KNEW and KSAN/San Francisco before moving to Columbia and finally MCA more than a decade ago. "It is a special life when your job becomes a thing of joy, your world is filled with music and your artists and your radio associates become some of your best friends," Augustine tells Country Aircheck. "The MCA promo team is one of the best in the business and I am proud to have worked with them and proud to call UMG my family! This industry has given me so much and I hope I have given something back. See you at the shows!" An official announcement is expected from the label, including plans for the position, later in the week. Reach her at 415-336-6517 or here.
