Chicago Two-Step:
As reported earlier via Breaking News, Twitter and Facebook, iHeartMedia flipped Regional Mexican WNUA/Chicago to Country as "Big 95.5" at 12pm today (1/5). The company says to expect a contemporary playlist with artists including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and Miranda Lambert, with "some all-time favorite throwbacks." Market VP/Programming Tommy Austin is the programming contact for now; plans to hire a PD and live airstaff are pending. Reach Austin here. Listen to the new station here. The 8.3kW Class B signal at 1,171 ft. will compete with heritage CBS Radio 5.7kW Class B WUSN (1,394 ft.), which posted a 3.5 (8t) Persons 6+ in the latest PPM, and is regularly the highest-cuming Country station in the U.S. WUSN's weekly cume for December was 1,155,200. The coverage areas for the two stations are almost identical.
