Jamboree On Hiatus:
The Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree is currently on hiatus because organizers can't afford the cost to stage the weekly free show, which is held at Nashville's Texas Troubadour Theatre. It airs Saturday nights on WSM-AM following the Grand Ole Opry. Since the late 1940s the show has welcomed artists including Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith and Garth Brooks. Supporters have formed the Midnite Jamboree Association to raise money to keep the nearly 68-year-old show running. According to the Ernest Tubb Record Shops website, the show will resume May 2.
