Why This Car Is Programmatic: iHeartMedia and subsidiary Katz Media Group have each launched programmatic ad-buying platforms for broadcast radio. The technology has been used mostly in the digital realm until now. Both platforms are powered by cloud-based tech company Jelli and automate the placement of advertising. "This new tool will give our sales groups the ability to more deeply partner with an advertiser and bring the best resources, unprecedented accountability and speed," says iHeartMedia Chairman/CEO Bob Pittman. Adds Katz President Mark Rosenthal, "It will give the entire radio industry an additional way to sell, putting this industry ahead of even the newest digital companies." More here.
