Royce Rolls  The changing of the promotion guard at UMG/Nashville(Breaking News 12/7) was set in motion Wednesday night (12/5), according to sources close to the situation. MCA VP/Promotion Royce Risser's rise to Sr. VP/Promotion over UMGN followed the departure of EVP/Promotion Bill Catino, who joined the group in April 2005 after 15 years with Capitol/Nashville. Mercury VP Bruce Shindler, who took that posting just two months ago, shifted to MCA, allowing Mercury Southeast rep Damon Moberly to work with a staff and artists he knows well in his first VP-level position. Moberly was PD for WVLK/Lexington when he was hired away to be Mercury's Northeast rep in October 1998. We hear the wheels are already turning on a new Southeast regional for Mercury. Stay tuned.
