Little Rock The Boat: Signal/Little Rock flipped AC KHLR to Country yesterday (8/12) as "106.7 The Ride." The station launched with 10,000 songs in a row, and PD Mike Kennedy, who stays on with the change, tells Country Aircheck he will be looking for a morning show (solo or team) and other dayparts. Materials to him here. It's the third Country signal in the market, a 13kW Class C taking on iHeartMedia's 92kW Class C KSSN & 79kW Class C1 Classic Country KMJX, which had a 6.3 (5) and 6.8 (3t) respectively in the Spring Nielsen Audio diary ratings (CAT 7/22). In its last book, KHLR had a 3.4 (10). "We plan to compete with the other two Country stations in town by exclusively focusing on new country," says Kennedy, who is new to the format. "Each station has its own focus, and I think there’s a place for each in the market. And 106.7 The Ride will be live and local. We believe in the power of local talent on the air making a difference in the community." Listen here.
