Ground Gaines:
Cumulus WSM-FM/Nashville and Westwood One Nash Icon network afternoon personality Scott Gaines will join Cumulus' WGKX/Memphis later this month, filling a vacancy created with the recent passing of "Memphis Mark" Billingsley (CAT 12/29). "Scott Gaines is the consummate country disc jockey," says Corporate Programmer Charlie Cook. "He loves the music and artists in the format." Adds PD Duane Shannon, "I'm excited about his enthusiasm and the experience he will bring to our staff." Though Gaines is vacating his network position with Nash Icon, he'll continue in a yet-to-be-named role at Westwood One. His background includes KUSJ/Temple, TX and WDTW/Detroit, among others. Reach him here.
Concurrently, Nash Program Coord. Jason Addams will succeed Gaines in the Nash Icon and WSM-FM role. Addams' prior stops include Townsquare Top 40 WBNQ/Bloomington, IN, where he served as PD/morning host. He joined Cumulus/Nash in late 2013 (CAT 12/18/13) and can be reached here.
