Flight (For) The Phoenix:
As reported earlier via Twitter and Facebook, Alpha KUPL/Portland APD/MD/afternooner Bryan "B-Dub" Washington has been named APD/MD/afternoons at CBS Radio's KMLE/Phoenix. As APD/MD he succeeds Chris Matthews, who moved to mornings earlier this month (CAT 1/14). In afternoons he succeeds David Dean, who is leaving after six years to pursue outside morning show opportunities with longtime friend CJ. Reach Dean here. "B-Dub is a remarkable on-air talent and programmer," says VP/Programming Tim Richards. "His obvious love for radio makes him a fantastic fit." Adds Washington, "I'm ready to learn, grow and have fun making great radio!" Washington joined KUPL in 2010 after stops in Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Mobile, AL. He starts Monday (2/1), will continue hosting his Superadio-syndicated show Buckwild Saturday Night with B-Dub and can be reached here.
