Knock, Knock, Knocking On Kevin's Door: Pamal RVP/Programming Kevin Callahan has been named PD for Lincoln Financial's KSON/San Diego and will start later this month. He succeeds John Marks, who left the company in July to program Sirius XM's Country offerings (CAT 7/6). "We had more than 370 candidates," Lincoln Financial/San Diego SVP/GM Rick Jackson tells Country Aircheck. "It is by far the most contested opening we've had, but we definitely found our guy." Callahan spent seven years at Pamal and oversaw programming for stations in Albany, NY; Lebanon, VT; Glen Falls, NY; and Gainesville, FL. "Vision, commitment and leadership brand Lincoln Financial Media as a premiere company in radio," Callahan says. "I am anxious and grateful to become part of the team in San Diego." Plans for redistributing his Pamal duties are still being formulated. Until he settles in San Diego, Callahan can be congratulated here.
