Emmis' Morgan Takes New York:
Emmis/New York Interim MM Charlie Morgan has been named SVP/MM for the three-station cluster, which includes Rhythmic WQHT, Urban WBLS and Gospel WLIB-AM. He'll also have oversight responsibilities for Indianapolis, where Radio One executive Chuck Williams replaced him as SVP/MM yesterday (Breaking News 8/9). Morgan has been acting New York MM since the January exit of Deon Livingston as part of company-wide spending cuts (CAT 1/8). "Charlie is one of radio's truly gifted leaders," says Emmis President/COO Patrick Walsh. "His inspirational leadership has been a catalyst in improving our results in Indianapolis and his deft skills are already having an impact in New York."
Morgan's career in radio spans more than 30 years. He joined Emmis in 2009 as as SVP/MM of its Indianapolis cluster, which includes Country WLHK. That post followed nearly 22 years as VP/MM at Susquehanna's crosstown group (now Cumulus), which includes Country WFMS. He's also President of the CRB Board of Directors. Congratulate him here.
