Nix Leads Triple Tigers Records: Thirty Tigers and Triple 8 Management have entered into a strategic partnership with Sony Music Entertainment to create the new label Triple Tigers Records. The country-focused imprint will be led by former Columbia VP/Promotion Norbert Nix, who will serve as GM. Nix is expected to soon name a full promotion team. As part of the deal, Sony Music's independent promotion arm RED will handle distribution for Triple Tigers while also extending its distribution agreement with Thirty Tigers. Triple Tigers' first signing is Nashville native Russell Dickerson, whose previously released EP and single are titled Yours.

Thirty Tigers, Triple 8 and Sony have collaborated across multiple projects in recent years, most notably Chase Rice. Launched by Thirty Tigers and his management company Triple 8, Rice moved to Sony's Columbia imprint helmed by then-VP/Promotion Nix, who eventually left the label in Sony/Nashville's February restructuring (Breaking News).

"I'm very fortunate to have formed significant relationships with Country radio programmers over the years, as we've worked together developing hits and breaking artists," says Nix, who will work with Thirty Tigers President David Macias and Triple 8 principals George Couri and Bruce Kalmick. "Russell Dickerson is the next chapter in that relationship. The decision to sign Russell to Triple Tigers Records was unanimous, as we believe in his great music and star potential. I look forward to engaging in this quest with David, George and Bruce."
