Puppy Love: Cumulus CEO Mary Berner has launched the year-long "Be A Leader" contest in an effort to raise revenues. Ten employees – sales and non-sales alike – will be awarded $1,000 for generating productive sales leads. Nine of the 10 will score "unique experiences" like the role of CEO for a day, a VIP trip to Nashville or attending a "superstar event on a tropical island." One winner will have the choice of trips to the Super Bowl or Grammys, and get possession of Sulu (short for Sulumuc, which is Cumulus "turned around"), a spoof wolf mascot. Berner introduced the effort by video and characterized 2017 as "the year where the rubber meets the road in our turnaround."
