Chronicle: Alpha KYKX/Tyler, TX PD/afternoon host "Phatt Matt" Ganssle died Friday (10/27) of complications from pneumonia at the age of 37. "Matt was one of the most creative people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with," says KBEB/Sacramento PD Bryan "B-Dub" Washington. "Above all, he was an amazing friend, and was always there to pick me up when I needed it. I feel like I’ve lost a brother. It’s amazing how many people in radio he touched in the same way. He will be truly missed." Ganssle joined 'YKX in 2015 after three years at KSJJ/Bend, OR, KBWF/San Francisco, KPLX/Dallas, KSNI/Santa Maria, Rock KFRR/Fresno, Alternative KXTE/Las Vegas and CMT Radio Live. Read his Country Aircheck profile here and hear the tribute from station voice John Willyard here. Services are pending.
