Mayne To Step Down: Country Radio Broadcasters Exec. Dir. Bill Mayne will step down in May 2019 after nine years. CRS 2019 will be his last with the organization, and the event's 50th. "It just feels right to pass the torch after the 50th anniversary of the central event of country music," Mayne says. "I'm proud, humbled, and extremely grateful to know, work with, and learn from so many radio programmers, DJs, label executives, promotion teams, artists, managers – plus my sheer luck to experience the amazing artists we are blessed with in country music – it could take one's breath away! Excited to work with the CRB Board to bring on our next leader. But right now, I am pumped that we are in the thick of planning CRS 50!"

"It will be the end of an era, really," says CRB Board President Kurt Johnson. "It’s impossible to adequately express our thanks for his extraordinary leadership. And the good news is, Bill is working with the brilliant CRB staff to create a once-in-a-lifetime CRS this coming February."

Mayne joined CRB in 2010 after radio and label stops that included 13 years as an executive with Warner Bros. and programming and on-air positions in Austin and Dallas. Under his leadership, CRS navigated a transition from the now-demolished Nashville Convention Center to its current home at the Omni Nashville. Prior to being named Exec. Dir., Mayne was a longtime CRB board member. He is also long tenured on the board of the Academy of Country music, including serving as Chairman. Reach him here.

The CRB Board has created a search committee to oversee the process of hiring a new executive director. Interested parties can send confidential correspondence here.
