O-Buy-O: Apollo Global Management has reached an agreement to purchase a majority interest of Cox Media’s broadcast television stations, as well as radio, newspaper and TV properties in Ohio, including Country WHKO/Dayton. Cox Enterprises will maintain a minority stake and join Apollo in forming a new company to operate the stations, which will be headquartered in Atlanta. "We didn't make this decision lightly,” says Cox Enterprises Pres./CEO Alex Taylor. “Many Cox Media Group employees have been with us for the majority or all of their careers. They have shown courage and resilience as we step into a brighter, stronger future."
