Troy Story 4: Sony/ATV Nashville Pres./CEO Troy Tomlinson joins Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG)/Nashville as Chairman/CEO effective July 15, becoming the first person to hold the title for the Nashville division. He will join UMPG's global senior management team with oversight of Nashville operations and leadership for its Tennessee-based royalty operations and Christian division. "Troy's track record in Nashville is the stuff of legend," says UMPG Chairman/CEO Jody Gerson. "He is simply one of the best and most successful creative executives the Nashville publishing community has ever seen." Tomlinson joined Sony/ATV in 2005; his prior stops include Acuff-Rose and Fame Music Group. Reach him here.

Concurrently, UMPG/Nashville EVP/GM Kent Earls has exited after more than two decades. Earls joined the company in 1997 following time with Affiliated Publishers, Inc. "The past 21+ years at UMPG/Nashville have been truly incredible," says Earls. "I'm very proud of our many accomplishments while at the helm....[and] am also so proud of the staff we assembled in my time there. They are second to none and are the reason we achieved so many highs. I love the Nashville music industry and community and [am] excited to see what the future holds." Reach Earls here.
